Recent research suggests that more than one in eight people have sought advice on how to get their debts under control as financial pressure on keeping up repayments increases.
Worries about repossessions, bankruptcy and the adverse side of borrowing has many people seeking professional advice to assist but many people who are most concerned about their debt problems are not seeking advice early enough – according to MoneyExpert.com 51% of those who say they are very concerned about their ability to manage their debts have not sought help.
David Wilson, Director of NE Money states “UK debt currently stands at approximately £1.5bn and approximately 30% of UK adults are concerned about their ability to manage and repay this debt. Money has always been a taboo subject and this has led to a general lack of education about controlling money and what to do if problems happen”.
Good quality debt advice is freely available to consumers and often gets rid of a lot of the concerns that people have about their debts and ‘what might happen’ if problems occur. Advice should always be free and provided by duly authorised professionals who can deal with your creditors to your benefit.
