It’s not too late for you to show your support and back NewcastleGateshead and Sunderland in their bids to become host cities as part of England’s bid to stage the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The 2018 World Cup presents more than an opportunity to celebrate sport; it’s an event that the entire region can benefit from and enjoy.

A key part of the national campaign are the Stadium of Light and St James’ Park - both world class venues with a proud history of hosting international football.

Staging matches at these two stadiums would be a massive boost for the image of North East England and stands testament to their growing reputation of staging elite sporting events.

In addition, any successful bid would bring great economic benefits to the North East for businesses and tourism, as thousands will flock to experience the games – requiring hotels, restaurants and leisure facilities.
