Seminar on Cooperation with China

Sunderland City Council is hosting an Investment Promotion Seminar by the Harbin Economic Co-operation and Promotion Bureau on the morning of Monday 14 September. The seminar will give an overview of investment / partnership opportunities in the city of Harbin, which has a population of approximately 10 million people and is the capital of the Heilongjiang Province in NE China (1.5 hours by plane North of Beijing).

The seminar will begin at 10am with refreshments and registration from 9.30am, and will be held at eVolve Business Centre, Rainton Bridge Business Park near Houghton-le-Spring.

Harbin will be represented at the seminar by senior officials from the Economic Co-operation and Promotion Bureau as well as officials from other economic development agencies in the city, local businesses and Harbin Municipal Government’s Foreign Affairs Office.

The Investment Promotion Seminar is being held as part of a visit by our Chinese partners to assess the opportunities for international trade and investment, and follows the outgoing trade mission from North East England to Harbin and Nanjing in May of this year which was organised in partnership between NECC, UKTI, ONE and Sunderland City Council.

There will also be the opportunity to hear briefly from organisations in the North East who can support your business to engage effectively with China.
