Sunderland Software City today announced its first Microsoft BizSpark Network Partner. Gibbsoft Limited is a Sunderland based IT Consultancy that specialises in business continuity, virtualisation and server consolidation.

Nigel Gibbs, principal consultant at Gibbsoft, says “We are delighted to be working with Sunderland Software City in the BizSpark programme. The programme allows us to access a wealth of software that opens up many different opportunities that would otherwise be out of our reach – it has given our business a massive boost.”

The Microsoft BizSpark Programme is a new global programme designed to accelerate the success of early stage start ups by connecting them to Network Partners who can provide mentorship, guidance and resources. As a Network Partner, Sunderland Software City recognises the benefit of the BizSpark Programme to new software companies.

Mark Taylor, software specialist with Sunderland Software City, says “The programme allows new start up or recently established software companies to access a full range of development software as well as the production licences for any subsequent products developed. It also gives access to the Microsoft Developers Network (MSDN) which is a fantastic source for more in-depth support.”

Although Gibbsoft is the first company to sign up for BizSpark with Sunderland Software City, there have since been a number of other companies who have recognised the great benefits of the programme and joined the Network.
